Crypto Portfolio Tracker — for Binance
This extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data to anyone. Your Binance API keys are stored locally in your own browser and are only ever transmitted directly to Binance's official servers to fetch the data you asked us to display. We have no backend servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no ad networks. That's it.
This Privacy Policy describes how the Crypto Portfolio Tracker — for Binance Chrome browser extension (the "Extension") handles user data. The Extension is developed and maintained by an independent developer ("we", "us", "our") and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Binance Holdings Ltd. "Binance" is a trademark of Binance Holdings Ltd. and is used here only as a descriptor for compatibility purposes.
This policy applies to anyone who installs and uses the Extension from the Chrome Web Store.
To provide its core functionality (displaying your Binance portfolio), the Extension accesses the following data:
| Data Type | Where It Comes From | Where It Goes |
|---|---|---|
| Binance API Key | You enter it manually | Stored locally in your browser only |
| Binance Secret Key | You enter it manually | Stored locally in your browser only |
| Account balances (Spot, Earn, Funding) | Binance API (api.binance.com) | Displayed in Extension UI; never stored permanently |
| Trade history | Binance API (api.binance.com) | Displayed in Extension UI; cached locally for 5 minutes |
| User preferences (language, currency, sort order, privacy mode) | Your selections in the Extension UI | Stored locally in your browser only |
All data flows are direct between your browser and Binance's official API. We never see, intercept, or relay any of this data.
To make this absolutely clear:
api.binance.com when you trigger an API call. The data described in Section 2 is used solely for the following purposes:
No data is used for any purpose beyond providing the Extension's stated functionality.
The Extension communicates with the following external services, all of which receive data directly from your browser, not from us:
api.binance.com): To fetch your account balances, trade history, market prices, and currency exchange rates. Governed by Binance's Privacy Policy.static.coincap.io): Only for fetching public cryptocurrency icon images (e.g. the BTC logo). No personal data is transmitted to CoinCap.We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Where your data lives: All data the Extension persists (API keys, preferences) is stored in chrome.storage.local, which is Chrome's built-in encrypted local storage on your device. This data never leaves your device unless explicitly transmitted to Binance's API as part of an authenticated request.
How requests are secured:
What happens when you uninstall: When you remove the Extension from Chrome, all locally stored data (API keys, preferences, cached trade history) is permanently deleted by Chrome. We have no way to recover it because we never had it.
The Extension requests the minimum permissions required for its functionality:
| Permission | Why It's Needed |
|---|---|
storage |
To save your API keys and preferences locally on your device, so you don't have to re-enter them every time you open the Extension. |
host_permissions: https://api.binance.com/ |
To allow the Extension to send authenticated read-only requests to Binance's official API. This is the only domain the Extension can reach. It cannot read any other website. |
The use of information received from the Binance API by the Extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
